The award recognizes Bodega Cuatro Rayas wine for “its work in research, identity, and the potential to enhance the prestige of Verdejo wines suitable for aging.”
La Seca (Valladolid), 6 February 2026.- Cuatro Rayas Longverdejo – Gran Vino de Rueda has been awarded the 2026 Revelation of the Year Award by La Vanguardia’s ‘La Guía de Vinos’, which also gave 93 points to the 2022 vintage, at an awards ceremony held on Monday, February 2, as part of Barcelona Wine Week 2026, one of the leading events in the international wine sector. The Spanish guide particularly praised the research work carried out on the Longverdejo project, which recovers ancestral native yeasts in underground cellars belonging to cooperative winegrowers who are members of Bodega Cuatro Rayas. The aim is to increase the longevity and aging capacity of the Verdejo variety in the Designation of Origin Rueda, breaking with the stereotypes traditionally associated with this grape.
