La Seca, Valladolid, Spain. March 4, 2025- Bodega Cuatro Rayas continues to advance in its commitment to accessibility and inclusion by adding Braille lettering to the label of its organic wine ‘Green & Social Verdejo’. The use of this alphabet in the labelling allows visually impaired people to read the information about the product. The words shown in this written system include the name of the winery and the wine, and its vintage, as well as the grape variety and its Designation of Origin Rueda. This addition falls within the Green & Social philosophy of the cooperative, a hallmark that supports the commitment to the respect of rural areas and the people living in them.

‘Green & Social Verdejo’—a wine that became a commercial success since it was launched in 2020, truly embodying Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ values by bringing together sustainability, social commitment, and innovation. Its ecological and vegan production ensures respect for the environment and bears the Cooperative Product seal, which certifies its origin and its contribution to the social economy. The labelling, besides the writing in Braille, is designed to meet sustainability criteria: the paper used is recycled and FSC-certified, the capsule is 100% recyclable aluminium and free of plastic, the closure used has a zero carbon footprint, and, the glass, in addition to being recycled, it is light to reduce the transport emissions. Bodega Cuatro Rayas represents the livelihood of 383 families in rural areas and is actively engaged in the effective promotion of equality between women and men in that environment. Furthermore, the cooperative has adopted the Code of Good Business Practices in Food Contracting, promoted by the Government of Spain to foster a greater degree of balance, transparency, and sustainability within the food chain. All of these previous features are shown in the labelling of this organic Verdejo from Bodega Cuatro Rayas.
