On this occasion, the editors of the publication have awarded 90 points to the Tempranillo varietal Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2020, thus recognizing its outstanding quality; on this wine the editors note that its slightly grippy tannins reveal a fruity finish. This wine, made from grapes from old vines and aged for 9 months in oak barrels, will also be featured as a «Best Buy» (wine recommended for purchase due to its quality and price) in the November issue of the magazine.
Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2020 is an exclusive wine for the on-trade that is presented under the signature of winemaker Elena Martín Oyagüe, who is responsible for selecting this wine, which stands out visually for its intense cherry red color with purple reflections.
On the nose this wine presents hints of liquorice and mature black fruits, blackberry and notes of very ripe plum over a spicy background in perfect harmony with the touches of mocha and dark-roasted hints from the barrel. Potent in the mouth, with complexity and structure, its sweet tannins are well assembled, while in retronasal, with the memory of the notes of black wild berries, spicy notes appear. Very long finish.
