The world-renowned British publication features an article on the DO Rueda-based cooperative and includes its ratings for four of the winery’s wines: Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2021 GVR (93p.), Cuatro Rayas Longverdejo GVR 2023 (93p.), Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2023 GVR (92p.), and Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2024 (91p.)
La Seca, Valladolid. 29 April 2025.- In its May issue, the prestigious specialised British magazine ‘Decanter’ has published a feature on the Valladolid-based cooperative Bodega Cuatro Rayas, including also the scoring rated by the wine taster Inés Salpico—Regional Editor of the magazine for Spain, Portugal, and South America, as well as Content Author—of four of the winery’s flagship brands. The wines reviewed by Salpico in the report titled “Cuatro Rayas: nine decades of collaborative evolution”, on the occasion of the cooperative’s 90th anniversary, are a clear example of the versatility and extraordinary quality of the Verdejo variety and of Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ single-variety wines, a benchmark for quality Spanish white wines under the Designation of Origin Rueda.

Thus, the cooperative’s most exclusive brand, Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2021 GVR received 93 points, with Decanter highlighting its great ageing potential and its complex flavour profile featuring “subtle nuttiness, melon, nectarine and papaya fruit.” While, Cuatro Rayas Longverdejo GVR 2023—developed through a research project aimed at recovering indigenous yeasts from local traditional cellars—also earned 93 points in the tasting, highlighting its “silky, but with grippy pull and a beautiful, flinty edge finish.” The third and last Gran Vino de Rueda tasted, Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2023 GVR, was awarded 92 points and noted for its “pleasant volume and weight on the mid-palate and a long finish of salted caramel.” Finally, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2024—made from old vines, partially barrel-fermented with five-months lees ageing—received 91 points and, as well as its old-vine character, they praised its elegance and “poised and moreish profile with peach, melon and Nashi pear.”
