La Seca (Valladolid), 05 de diciembre de 2018.- Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée, vino blanco de la variedad verdejo, ha sido reconocido con una puntuación excepcional de 95 puntos (medalla de oro) en la 36 edición del premio International Wine Challenge. Por otro lado, Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo, ha conseguido una plata en el Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, que se suma al palmarés que ha ido cosechando desde su creación en el 2015 y entre los que destacan reconocimientos como una medalla de oro en el Berliner Wine Trophy 2018 y 92 puntos en la Guía Peñín 2019 entre otros, convirtiéndose así en uno de los verdejos imprescindibles de la D.O. Rueda.

In the new labeling line, which maintains the essence of the own colors with which it was already working, the finishes and textures generated from key concepts become more important. The four characteristic lines of the brand now stand out in a sharp blow that allows a relief on the paper; They appear as a bird’s eye view to form four vineyard lines, on which the product, the grape, and the brand are based. With a split and more enveloping structure, it also achieves a more traditional aesthetic, although its entire design sums up modernity.

On the other hand, a clearer and more striking reading has been implemented, the brand is based on a stamping texture created to simulate the brightness and sparkles of the stony gravel that we find in the lands where wines are born. With a composition, in which volumes and textures are essential for the customer to touch and feel the brand, we add the fact that by superimposing the three labels of the three varieties in the range in order, the wave is formed typical of the brand. All these details are intended for wine lovers to see a clear evolution and improvement, but never forget that the wines are the same, with high quality and traditional know-how.

A brand synonymous with Verdejo de Rueda
Bodega Cuatro Rayas is how the Agrícola Castellana winery is known today, but both words also show the main ranges of wines of the cooperative. However, many people do not know the origin of this name, which is nothing more than a payment where four municipalities converge and where the older ones said in the middle of the last century that the best grapes were produced: La Seca, Rodilana, Medina del Campo and Wheel.

La Seca (Valladolid), October 11, 2018.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas has closed this Thursday, October 11, after an exact month since the harvest started, a campaign in which a collection of grapes classified according to the age of the vineyards has been carried out. In the vineyards over 40 years old, the harvest has been carried out in boxes, grapes from different plots selected in a refrigerated chamber and pressed inertis (100% of the pressed musts are protected from oxidation).

Located in the heart of Rueda, Cuatro Rayas accounts for around 16 percent of the production of the Rueda Designation of Origin. Its partners own nearly 2,500 hectares of their own vineyard, among which some of the oldest vineyards in the appellation stand out. Of the total collection this year, more than a million kilos correspond to manual hawks in old, over forty years and even centenarians, while the rest is the result of a night mechanical harvesting.

The cooperative, which has more than 300 members located in some thirty towns between Valladolid and Segovia, has collected around 19 million kilos of grapes. This is an abundant harvest with new Verdejo and Sauvignon vineyards incorporated by the cooperative’s members. A wider harvest of organic hawthorn has also been carried out given the growing demand for this type of wine, as well as a collection at night and with a machine in the trellis hawks with the aim of harvesting the grapes more fast, at low temperature and without light and thus avoid oxidation.
