The wine cooperative installs a solar farm with nearly a thousand photovoltaic panels to make its energy needs more sustainable

La Seca, 5 May 2022.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas goes one step further to implement its values of respect for the environment by installing a solar panel farm. The purpose of this new facility is to produce and provide with photovoltaic energy the two cooperative workplaces—located in La Seca (Valladolid)— that house the necessary premises for the winemaking, production, bottling, storage, and logistics of the winery—specialist in quality winemaking under the designation of origin Rueda. With this project, Cuatro Rayas’ energy supply is optimised through solar energy—a renewable and clean resource— and the dependency on fossil fuels is minimised, thus reducing the impact on the environment.

The solar farm consists of 992 photovoltaic panels installed in an agricultural field near the winery—purchased by the cooperative to this end—and has been integrated into its environment respectfully. Every panel of the energy infrastructure has a power generating capacity of 400kW, supplying a high portion of the required power efficiently for the winery activities during daylight. In addition, the new solar farm will contribute positively by reducing the winery impact on the environment over the expected 25 years of service life for the solar facility, which required an investment of €338,000.

Since its beginning, Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ priorities have been caring for the environment and the welfare of the people living in the rural area. This philosophy contributes to the cooperative character and inspires the current Strategic Plan, which sets out its mission to ensure sustainability and generation renewal in the wine-growing environment.

Cuatro Rayas translates this green philosophy into the emblem ‘green & social’, a seal that attests to the commitment of the winery from DO Rueda to respect both the environment and people. The design of this hallmark depicts a grape and a smiley face united by two arrows forming a circle and highlights the interdependence of the sustainability of the natural environment and the people who live in it.

La cooperativa vitivinícola instala un parque solar con cerca de mil paneles fotovoltaicos para hacer más sostenible la cobertura de sus necesidades energéticas

La Seca, 5 de mayo de 2022.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas da un paso más en la puesta en práctica de sus valores de respeto por el medio natural con la instalación de un parque de paneles solares. La nueva infraestructura tiene como fin generar y aportar energía fotovoltaica a los dos centros de trabajo de la cooperativa- con sede en La Seca (Valladolid)-, que acogen las dependencias necesarias para las operaciones de elaboración, producción, embotellado, almacenaje y logística de la bodega, especialista en elaboraciones de calidad bajo denominación de origen Rueda. Con este proyecto se optimiza el suministro energético de Cuatro Rayas a partir de energía solar -un recurso renovable y limpio- y se minimiza la dependencia de combustibles fósiles, lo que consecuentemente reduce el impacto en el medio natural.

El parque solar se compone de 992 placas fotovoltaicas que se han instalado en un terreno agrícola próximo a la bodega -adquirido por la cooperativa con este fin- y se ha procurado su integración de forma respetuosa en el entorno. Cada uno de los paneles que componen la infraestructura energética es capaz de generar 400w (cerca de 400 kw la instalación en su conjunto), permitiendo suministrar de forma eficiente un alto porcentaje de la energía que la actividad de la bodega requiere durante las horas de sol. Además, el nuevo parque fotovoltaico influirá de forma positiva al permitir la reducción del impacto en el medio natural de la bodega a lo largo de los 25 años de vida útil previstos para la instalación solar, que ha requerido una inversión de 338.000€

RESPONSABLES CON LA SOSTENIBILIDAD AMBIENTAL Y LA SOCIEDAD RURAL

Desde sus orígenes, el cuidado del campo y el bienestar de quienes habitan el medio rural han sido prioritarios para Bodega Cuatro Rayas; esta filosofía marca el carácter de la cooperativa e inspira el actual Plan Estratégico, que establece que su misión es garantizar la sostenibilidad y el relevo generacional en el entorno vitivinícola.

Cuatro Rayas cristaliza esta filosofía verde bajo el emblema ‘green & social’, un sello que ampara el compromiso de la bodega de la DO Rueda por el respeto al medio ambiente y hacia las personas: el diseño de este marchamo propio representa una uva y una cara sonriente conectadas por dos flechas que forman un círculo y pone de manifiesto la interdependencia de la sostenibilidad del medio natural y el bienestar de las personas que habitan en él.
