‘LONGVERDEJO’ is an R&D project whose main objective is to increase longevity and
the aging capacity of white wines of the Verdejo variety, through the
development of different novel strategies including yeast selection
autochthonous and the implementation of new environmentally friendly viticulture techniques
ambient. Among these techniques, new fertilization methods will be used for the
vineyard and plant management, as well as new methods for phytosanitary control
ecological in nature.

Bodega Cuatro Rayas leads this project in which it also participates, as an entity
subcontracted, the Research Institute of Vine and Wine (IIVV) of the University of
Lion.

This initiative has a global budget of € 599,006.36 and is co-financed by the
CDTI with ERDF funds from the European Union through the pluriregional Operational Program
of Smart Growth 2014-2020. LONGVERDEJO has an expected duration of 36 months, between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2022.

‘LONGVERDEJO’ es un proyecto de I+D cuyo objetivo principal es aumentar la longevidad y
la capacidad de envejecimiento de los vinos blancos de la variedad verdejo, mediante el
desarrollo de distintas estrategias novedosas que incluyen la selección de levaduras
autóctonas y la implantación de nuevas técnicas de viticultura respetuosas con el medio
ambiente. Entre estas técncicas, se emplearán nuevos métodos de fertilización para el
manejo del viñedo y de la planta, además de nuevos métodos para el control fitosanitario
de carácter ecológico.

Bodega Cuatro Rayas lidera este proyecto en el que también participa, como entidad
subcontratada, el Instituto de Investigación de la Viña y el Vino (IIVV) de la Universidad de
León.

Esta iniciativa dispone de un presupuesto global de 599.006,36 € y está cofinanciada por el
CDTI con fondos FEDER de la Unión Europea a través del Programa Operativo plurirregional
de Crecimiento Inteligente 2014-2020. LONGVERDEJO tiene una duración prevista de 36 meses, comprendidos entre el 1 de septiembre de 2019 y el 31 de agosto de 2022.
