The British publication, of important international prestige, dedicates a report to the cooperative and includes its ratings for three single-varietal wines from the Rueda DO winery: Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2020 – Gran Vino de Rueda (93p.), Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2023 (91p.) and Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo 2023 (90p.)
The tasting team of the ‘London Wine Competition 2024’ granted a Gold medal, 94p. and the recognition of “Best in Show by Country – Spain” of this edition to 61 Dorado en Rama NV, the generous premium wine of Bodega Cuatro Rayas.
La Seca, Valladolid. 24 April 2024. – The renowned specialised British publication ‘Decanter Magazine’ publishes in its May issue an article about the cooperative winery from Valladolid—Bodega Cuatro Rayas, including also the scores rated by the wine taster Inés Salpico, Regional Editor of the magazine for Spain, Portugal and South America and Content Author, of three brands from the winery. The wines reviewed by Salpico in the article are an example of the versatility the Verdejo variety offers to produce brands with highly distinct profiles and the extraordinary quality of the varietals produced by the winery from Valladolid, a benchmark in premium quality Spanish white wine under Designation of Origin Rueda.
So, Decanter rates 90 points the flagship of the cooperative, Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo 2023 and highlights: “There’s a tropical richness to the fruit profile with notes of passionfruit, melon and pink grapefruit”. While, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2023 —a wine from old vines, partially fermented in barrels and 5-month ageing on its lees—received 91 points in the tasting and they highlight its elegant character and “herbal nuances of wild fennel and oregano giving it a very Mediterranean character”. Lastly, the 2020 vintage of the Gran Vino de Rueda Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée, the most exclusive brand from Cuatro Rayas, whereby the best and oldest plots of the cooperative are used, some of them even pre-phylloxera, scored 93 points and they remark its highly gastronomic character and complex aromatic profile with a “long finish, with lingering notes of roasted almonds and apple peel”.

Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ participation in the British ‘London Wine Competition’ adds eight silver and one gold to the medal count of the cooperative from Valladolid, increasing the list of triumphs of several winery brands, including Verdejo varietals such as Cuatro Rayas Longverdejo 2022 and Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2022, both under the category Gran Vino de Rueda, and wines coming from organic farming, such as Cuatro Rayas #CO. Organic Collection 2023 or brands resulting from inter-cooperative projects such as Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2020.
In addition, the exclusive fortified ‘61’ Dorado en Rama NV,whereby grapes from century-old plots of Palomino Fino (a variety facing extinction in DO Rueda) that combines both biological and oxidative ageing received the recognition as best Spanish wine in Show recognition in this edition, together with a gold medal and 94 points, so the jury of this competition awarded the uniqueness of this brand, a true reflection of the traditional winemaking process in this region.
