La Seca, Valladolid. La Seca, Valladolid. 18 June 2025.– – The Decanter Awards – one of the most respected British competitions in the international wine industry, organised by the renowned magazine Decanter – has revealed the results of its 2025 edition. Among the highlights is the Platinum medal (97p.) awarded to “61” Dorado en Rama NV, making it the highest-scoring DO Rueda wine in the competition.
Out of more than 17,000 wines from around the world submitted to this edition, only 16 Spanish wines have received the Platinum medal. Among them, the fortified wine from Bodega Cuatro Rayas – produced using the traditional winemaking method in sherry butts and blending the Verdejo and Palomino Fino varieties – was the sole representative from the Designation of Origin Rueda to earn this honour.
Following its participation at the Decanter Awards, Bodega Cuatro Rayas has also added two Silver medals to its list of accolades. These correspond to scores above 90 points, according to the strict evaluation standards of the British competition’s panel of judges: Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo 2024 (94 p.) and Gran Vino de Rueda Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2020 (92 p.) have both been ranked among the top ten wines from the Designation of Origin in this year’s edition.
