Ignacio Martín Obregón takes over from the Argentinian Alfredo Capece as head of this international organisation that coordinates synergies between the representatives of the main wine producers from America, Europe and Oceania
Cambados (Pontevedra), May 24, 2024.- The Wine Cooperatives World Forum (FMCV, in its Spanish acronym) has closed its 13th Forum—held from 22 to 25 May at the facilities of Bodega Martín Códax in Cambados, Pontevedra (Spain)—where Ignacio Martín Obregón – President of the cooperative Bodega Cuatro Rayas from the province of Valladolid Bodega Cuatro Rayas – was elected as the new chairman of this international organisation. Thus, Martín Obregón assumes the chair of this institution that gathers since 2011 thousands of producers of still wine, sparkling wine, and musts from Chile, Argentine, Uruguay, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Australia, to create strategic partnerships increasing the competitiveness of the wine cooperatives in the global market.
The Spanish mandate will extend throughout the next year and until the next representative meeting of this international organisation takes place, which is planned to be held on 25 October in the Brazilian state of Río Grande do Sul, becoming the cooperative Garibaldi the host of the 14th Forum of the organisation.
Since 2018, Bodega Cuatro Rayas has been a permanent member of the main wine cooperative industry organisation on the international stage; and also, since 2023, the facilities of this cooperative winery located in La Seca (Valladolid) are the permanent seat of the Association ‘Wine Cooperative World Forum’. In doing so, the representatives of the main cooperatives in the wine and vine industry across the world gather regularly coordinated by this international organisation holding meetings in different parts of the world; in addition, they have the facilities of our cooperative in Valladolid as their permanent official seat.
