A study performed by the chamber of commerce assesses the economic impact, the direct, indirect, and induced impact, as well as the mediatic impact of the cooperative winery on its area of influence. It reveals that, beyond the 90 direct jobs, the winery creates 293 jobs linked to the winegrower members and more than 250 indirect jobs

La Seca, 13 March 2023. – The Chamber of Commerce of Valladolid and Bodega Cuatro Rayas presented this Monday, at the headquarters of the Chamber corporation, a study regarding the estimation of the economic and social impact of the agri-food cooperative in the province. The presentation event of this document highlighting the cooperative role in the business network in Valladolid was attended by Víctor Caramanzana, President of the Chamber of Valladolid, and Ignacio Martín Obregón y Vicente Orihuela, President, and Managing Director of Bodega Cuatro Rayas, respectively.
After assessing the cooperative’s accounts for the previous five closed fiscal years and using 2021 year (last year with audited annual report) as a point of reference, this study estimates the total economic impact of the winery’s activity at €33.3 million. To reach this result, the study assesses its direct impact, including procurements, staff costs, and other operating expenses, amounting to €22.6 million. In addition, the indirect impact is estimated at €3.7 million, of which the activity of the cooperative winery members generates 3M.
The induced impact, understood as the impact generated in other industries through consumption by employees, members, suppliers, and visitors, is estimated at €5.3 million. The study also considers the media impact generated by the cooperative, estimated at €1.5 million, including its appearance in digital and traditional media and its advertising activity, particularly active during January, June, and December.
In terms of employment, the study shows that Bodega Cuatro Rayas creates a total of 634 jobs, 90 of which are at the winery itself, 293 depend on the cooperative members, and 251 are indirect jobs.
