 The wine cooperative will host in its facilities in La Seca the ‘First National Young Cooperative Members Meeting’, organised by Spanish Agri-food Cooperatives

La Seca, 9 August 2022.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas has been chosen as the host to hold the first national young members meeting of Spanish Agri-food Cooperatives and Urcacyl, which will take place in the last week of next October. The cooperative winery has experience holding this type of event since it was the host of the Foretaste for the Wine Cooperative World Forum—held in Cuatro Rayas Facilities last May. The event is expected to bring together more than a hundred young members of agri-food cooperatives from all over the country.

‘GREEN & SOCIAL’ COMMITMENT

Since its beginning, Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ priorities have been the care for the environment and the welfare of the people who live in it. This philosophy contributes to the cooperative character and inspires its current Strategic Plan, which sets out its mission to ensure the living standards of its members and workers in rural areas, achieving a balance between profitability, value, and sustainability. Cuatro Rayas translates this green philosophy into the emblem ‘green & social’, a seal that attests the commitment of the winery from DO Rueda to respect both the environment and people, based on the premise that the sustainability of the natural environment and the people who live in the rural areas is interdependent.

PROMOTING GENERATIONAL RENEWAL IN THE RURAL AREAS

Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ commitment to the community in which it operates is reflected in its engagement in the rural generational renewal cause through the Cuatro Rayas Envero Commission, a group composed of the youngest cooperative members—and children of the cooperative members—to represent the winery at domestic and international fora and which seeks to encourage young people to contribute and place value on their ancestors legacy, making viticulture their livelihood.

COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY AND WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP

Since its foundation in 1935, men and women have been shareholding members of the winery, and for years Cuatro Rayas has been especially aware of and committed to equality policies. Today, around a third of its winegrower members are women, and its workforce consists of workers of both genders, in managerial and technical positions in different areas of work, as shown in the technical management of the winery—having the most significant responsibility in terms of oenological practices—lead by Elena M. Oyagüe. Accordingly, after validating the winery Equality Plan, Cuatro Rayas has been officially recognised as a ‘Collaborating Entity in Equal Opportunities for Women and Men’ by the Family and Equal Opportunities Department of the Regional Government of Castile and León upon the reception of the award ‘Óptima Castilla y León’, which highlights the work of the companies committed to equal opportunities by the implementation of affirmative action policies within the organisations.

La Seca, 9 de agosto de 2022.- Bodega Cuatro Rayas ha sido seleccionada como sede para la celebración del primer encuentro nacional de Jóvenes de Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de España y Urcacyl, que se llevará a cabo la última semana del próximo mes de octubre. La bodega cooperativa ya cuenta con experiencia en la acogida de este tipo de actividades, al haber ejercido como anfitriones del Preforo del Foro Mundial de Cooperativas Vitivinícolas -celebrado en las instalaciones de Cuatro Rayas el pasado mes de mayo-. Se prevé que la cita reúna más de un centenar de jóvenes representantes de cooperativas agroalimentarias de todo el país.

RESPONSABILIDAD ‘GREEN & SOCIAL’

Desde sus orígenes, el cuidado del campo y el bienestar de quienes habitan en él han sido prioritarios para Bodega Cuatro Rayas; esta filosofía marca el carácter de la cooperativa e inspira su actual Plan Estratégico, que establece que su propósito es garantizar el nivel de vida de sus socios y trabajadores en el medio rural, logrando un equilibrio entre la rentabilidad, el valor y la sostenibilidad. Cuatro Rayas cristaliza esta filosofía verde bajo el emblema ‘green & social’, un sello que ampara el compromiso de la bodega de la DO Rueda por el respeto al medio ambiente y hacia las personas, partiendo de la premisa de que la sostenibilidad del entorno natural y el bienestar de las personas que habitan en el medio rural son interdependientes.

FOMENTO DEL RELEVO GENERACIONAL EN EL MEDIO RURAL

El compromiso de Bodega Cuatro Rayas con la comunidad que acoge su actividad queda patente en su implicación con la causa del relevo generacional en el medio rural a través de la Comisión Envero Cuatro Rayas, una agrupación integrada por los miembros más jóvenes de la cooperativa -así como por hijos e hijas de socios cooperativistas – con el objetivo de representar a la bodega en foros nacionales e internacionales y que busca que los más jóvenes aporten y pongan en valor el legado de sus antecesores, convirtiendo también la viticultura en su medio de vida.

APUESTA POR LA IGUALDAD Y EL LIDERAZGO FEMENINO

Desde su fundación en 1935, hombres y mujeres han sido socios y socias titulares de la bodega y desde hace años Cuatro Rayas se ha mostrado especialmente sensibilizada e implicada en las políticas igualitarias. Hoy en día, cerca de un tercio de sus cooperativistas viticultores son mujeres y su plantilla está compuesta por trabajadores de ambos sexos, tanto en puestos directivos como desempeñando tareas técnicas en diferentes áreas de trabajo, tal y como demuestra la dirección técnica de la bodega -máxima responsabilidad en términos enológicos- al cargo de Elena M. Oyagüe. En este sentido -y tras validar oficialmente el Plan de Igualdad de la bodega-, Cuatro Rayas ha sido reconocida oficialmente como ‘Entidad Colaboradora en Igualdad de Oportunidades entre Mujeres y Hombres’ por la Consejería de Familia e Igualdad de Oportunidades de la Junta de Castilla y León al recibir la distinción ‘Óptima Castilla y León’, que pone en valor la labor de las empresas comprometidas con la igualdad de oportunidades incentivando la puesta en práctica de políticas de acción positiva en las organizaciones.
