    Bodega Cuatro Rayas cooperative becomes the most awarded winery at this contest, receiving a total of thirteen medals between the Irish and Dutch rounds of the Spanish Tasters Union contest.

    The Irish round of the UEC contest adds a Great Gold to Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020 GVR list of prizes, and three Gold medals to Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios 2020 and Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2019.

    ‘Best of Spain Challenge 2021 – The Netherlands’ gives a Gold medal to Bascarlón Verdejo 2020 and awards a Silver to five other brands of the cooperative winery in DO Rueda.


    La Seca, 10 January 2022. The Spanish Taster Union (UEC, by its initials in Spanish) has published the results of the international Spanish wine contest ‘Best of Spain Challenge 2021’, consisting of two rounds held in Ireland and The Netherlands, respectively, where a selection of Masters of Wine, sommeliers, specialist journalist and purchasing managers from the most important importers and department stores in the host countries act as tasters.

    The cooperative from Valladolid Bodega Cuatro Rayas has become the most awarded winery this edition, receiving its brands a total of thirteen medals, including a Great Gold, three Golds, and three Silvers at the Irish round, and a Gold and five Silvers at the Dutch one. Among the awarded wines, it is worth noting the Great Gold medal given to Gran Vino de Rueda Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020, which in its launching year also has received a Gold medal at the ‘Berliner Wine Trophy Summer 2021’ and the ‘Selections Mondials des Vins Canadá 2021’, and scored 92 points both in the latest editions of the Guía Peñín and the Guía Gourmets.

    In addition to this recognition, Bodega Cuatro Rayas added in Ireland three new Golds to its medal table that went to Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020 and Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2020—two of the most renowned brands of the winery located in La Seca that confirm the quality of the cooperative’s DO Rueda varietal wines—, and to the Tempranillo Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2019, a special selection of the Winemaker and Technical Director of the winery, Elena M. Oyagüe.

    The Netherlands tasting round of the Best of Spain Challenge 2021 adds to Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ list of triumphs six new recognitions to its brads. Bascarlón Verdejo 2020 was awarded a Gold at the contest and five Silver medals were added to the DO Rueda Verdejo list of prizes—Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020, Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020 GVR, Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo 2020, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios 2020, and Green & Social Verdejo 2020.

    La cooperativa Bodega Cuatro Rayas se convierte en la bodega más premiada del certamen al obtener un total de trece medallas entre las rondas de Irlanda y Países Bajos del certamen de la Unión Española de Catadores.

    La ronda de Irlanda del concurso de la UEC suma un Gran Oro al currículum de Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020 GVR y tres medallas de Oro para Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios 2020 y Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2019.

    ‘Best of Spain Challenge 2021 – Países Bajos’ otorga medalla de Oro a Bascarlón Verdejo 2020 y premia con Plata otras cinco elaboraciones de la bodega cooperativa de la DO Rueda.


    La Seca, 10 de enero de 2022.- La Unión Española de Catadores (UEC) ha hecho públicos los resultados del certamen internacional de vinos españoles ‘Best of Spain Challenge 2021’, que cuenta con dos rondas celebradas respectivamente en Irlanda y Países Bajos y en las que participan como catadores una selección de prescriptores –Masters of Wine, sumilleres, periodistas especializados y responsables de compras de las más importantes importadoras y grandes superficies- de los países anfitriones.

    La cooperativa vallisoletana Bodega Cuatro Rayas ha resultado la bodega más premiada de la edición al obtener un total de trece medallas con sus elaboraciones, incluyendo un Gran Oro, tres Oros y tres Platas en la ronda irlandesa y un Oro y cinco Platas en los Países Bajos. Entre los vinos premiados, destaca la medalla de Gran Oro obtenida por el Gran Vino de Rueda Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020, que en el año de su lanzamiento también ha obtenido medalla de Oro en ‘Berliner Wine Trophy Summer 2021’ y en ‘Selections Mondials des Vins Canadá 2021’ y al que tanto la Guía Peñín como la Guía Gourmets referencian con 92 puntos en sus últimas ediciones.

    Además de este premio, Bodega Cuatro Rayas consigue en Irlanda tres nuevos Oros para su medallero, que recaen sobre Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020 y Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios Verdejo 2020 –dos de las elaboraciones más reconocidas de la bodega localizada en La Seca y que ratifican la calidad de los varietales DO Rueda de la cooperativa- y sobre el tempranillo Cuarenta Vendimias Ribera del Duero 2019, selección especial de la enóloga y directora técnica de la Bodega Elena M. Oyagüe.

    La ronda de cata en los Países Bajos del Best of Spain Challenge 2021, aporta al curriculum de Bodega Cuatro Rayas seis nuevos reconocimientos a sus elaboraciones. Bascarlón Verdejo 2020 es premiado con un Oro en el certamen y cinco medallas de Plata se suman al curriculum de los verdejos DO Rueda Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo 2020, Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2020 GVR, Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo 2020, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios 2020, y Green & Social Verdejo 2020.
