Cuatro Rayas wins the Best Rueda Wine Trophy at the ‘Oscars’ of wine (IWC)

The pre-phylloxera Verdejo Amador Diez Cuvée 2015 received the Rueda Trophy at the International Wine Challenge 2021: 95 points that place it among the top white wines of the world at the British competition. This is the second time the cooperative wins the trophy

La Seca, 20 May 2021.- The prestigious British competition International Wine Challenge has published the results of the 2021 edition, where the wine for ageing Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2015 from Bodega Cuatro Rayas received a Gold medal (95 points) and the Rueda Trophy, a prize that accredits it as this year’s best DO Rueda wine. Thereby, the cooperative winery located in La Seca (Valladolid) repeats the experience of the 2019 edition of this renowned competition—the equivalent of Oscars to the wine industry—, where another of its brands, Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2017, won the same awards.

The jury, consisting of the top UK tasters and guest tasters from other countries, describes Amador Diez 2015  as: “Yeasty oxidative style. Great depth of nutty bruised apple and lemon peel. Shows a full harmonious and complex palate. Creamy texture cut by a keen citrus acidity. Floral notes and orange zest, Beautiful wine”.

In addition to the recognition obtained at IWC 2021,  Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2015 has been recently awarded 94 points and a Silver medal at the ‘Wine & Spirits Competition 2021’: a new important prize to its already extensive list of triumphs. Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée is the most exclusive brand from Cuatro Rayas, a Verdejo that has won the palate of winetasters and wine industry influencers worldwide.

Bodega Cuatro Rayas repeats its award at IWC by obtaining the Trophy for the best Rueda wine with Amador Diez Verdejo Cuvée 2015, as it did in the 2019 edition with Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Cuvée 2017
